The goal of the Elderly Nutrition program is to provide persons aged 60 and over a hot, nutritious noon time meal in a group setting or delivered to their homes. Congregate noon meals are provided at Senior Citizens Centers or other designated locations in all 13 South Central counties. Anyone aged 60 or older is eligible to receive a meal at the congregate sites. In order to assure a meal, reservations must be made the day prior. Nutrition education is provided monthly to the congregate participants and to the home delivered consumers, keeping seniors abreast of updates in the area of nutritional needs.
